I was born and raised in Singapore, have roots on the East Coast of the United States, and am currently based in London. I would describe my accent as a ‘chapalang’ (mix) of all the places I’ve lived.
I have an MFA in Voice Studies from the Central School of Speech and Drama, and am a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (New York)'s Musical Theater conservatory programme, where I first fell in love with voice work.
I have been an actor, singer and theatre-maker for over a decade, having worked with New Earth Theatre, The Flea, the National Asian Artists Project, Netflix, and more. As an artist, I explore intervocalic creation, and a loop station is my current favorite medium. My research focuses on reparative creativity - harnessing biophilic approaches to voice work as a means to repair colonial and capitalist harm.
I was raised by two teachers, and I absolutely love teaching - it is in my bones. As an educator, I am committed to creating inclusivity, equity and accessibility in the arts.
My name is pronounced [zoʊĭ t͡s̬ɨmɪn hoʊ]!
